I’m excited to share the latest progress update on my game, Primitive Protection, which is currently in development. The generous support from the Australian Alopecia Areata Foundation (AAAF) has significantly impacted its progress thus far. With the $1500 received as part of the AAAF sponsorship, I’ve made meaningful strides in terms of both game design and overall development.

Utilizing the powerful Unreal Engine 5, I have successfully created the main character, designed the first level, and implemented a robust building system that forms a core part of the game’s mechanics. The AAAF funding has not only helped me in achieving these milestones but has also allowed me to invest in resources that will greatly enhance the final product when completed.

One of the significant investments made with the AAAF funding was purchasing a building framework. This framework has allowed me to implement a seamless and intuitive building system that empowers players to create structures and defenses with ease. This mechanic is vital to the gameplay experience, as it encourages strategic thinking and planning.

Furthermore, I have allocated $700 of the sponsorship money to collaborate with a talented composer for the game’s soundtrack. This partnership will ensure that Primitive Protection has a captivating and immersive auditory experience, enhancing the atmosphere and complementing the game’s visual aesthetics when it is finished.

Finally, I have also dedicated a portion of the funds to acquiring an AI framework. This decision will elevate the game’s overall quality by integrating advanced AI behaviour, offering an engaging and challenging experience for players as they face off against intelligent enemies in the completed game.

In conclusion, the AAAF’s financial support has been instrumental in pushing Primitive Protection’s development forward. With the help of this funding, I have been able to create a solid foundation for my game, as well as secure the necessary resources to polish and refine it as development continues.
