I was so excited to tell you all that I qualified for the NSW Level 4 State Gymnastics competition, representing the Met West Region. The competition was a tough one, I made sure that I tried my best and followed my coach’s advice to achieve my best outcomes.

Unfortunately, my journey with gymnastics hit an unexpected roadblock when I encountered a stress fracture in my foot in the lead up to State, forcing me to temporarily step away from the sport I love. It was a challenging period filled with physical and emotional struggles but having the AAAF sponsorship helped to keep me going. I also started loosing my hair again but I wasn’t going to let my hair loss or injury stop me.

Despite the setbacks, I remained motivated and committed to returning to gymnastics. I continued to attend training whilst completing a special exercise program written by my Sports Physio and have spent time focusing on other areas of my gymnastics like flexibility to utilise the time whilst I was unable to train and compete.

I did get an all clear from my Physio and coaches to compete at State, however I knew I wasn’t in the same place physically and skills wise as I was before my injury. I was still proud to be out there competing with my squad and showing others that you don’t let injuries or hair loss stop you.
Being a competitive gymnast has taught me that no matter the obstacle you are presented, with support and assistance from those around you like my physio, coaches, parents and AAAF you can keep going and will get through any obstacle.
