Nita was diagnosed with alopecia areata in 2024 and has since become a passionate advocate for others living with the condition. With firsthand insight into how alopecia can affect everyday life, she offers a grounded, compassionate presence and welcomes anyone seeking support or connection.
As a third-year medical student, Nita is committed to spreading awareness and sharing research-backed information about alopecia areata in a way that is clear, human, and empowering. She brings together lived experience, scientific understanding, and a strong belief in collaboration to help strengthen support for the alopecia community.

NSW Online Support Group
Support groups are a fantastic way to get in touch with other people who are living with Alopecia Areata, to ask questions and find new friends. Our Facebook groups are closed groups and you will be contacted by an administrator to ensure you are joining the correct state group and are part of the alopecia community.

AAAF runs a wide range of events, from Open Days and Trivia Nights, to pizza dinners and casual catch ups over coffee. These events all aim to provide a supportive atmosphere and chance to socialise with other people who have Alopecia Areata and their families. .
