Over the past few months, I’ve taken some exciting steps to raise awareness about Alopecia areata and the incredible support provided by the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation (AAAF) within my tennis community.

I made a conscious effort to visually represent AAAF by proudly displaying their logo during my tennis sessions. Whether it’s on my gear or tennis bag, the logo has become a recognizable symbol within the club, prompting curious inquiries and giving me the chance to share the essential work that AAAF does for individuals dealing with alopecia.

In addition to showcasing the AAAF logo, I’ve been wearing different wigs during my tennis activities. This not only adds a fun and vibrant element to my game but also sparks conversations within the club. Members have been curious and supportive, leading to insightful discussions about alopecia, dispelling myths, and fostering a greater understanding of the challenges faced by those with this condition.

In terms of gameplay, I’ve ventured into the world of doubles tennis, and it’s been a game-changer for both my mental and physical health. Doubles play has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to connect with others on the court, enhancing the social aspect of my tennis journey. The camaraderie and shared experiences during doubles matches have been uplifting, contributing significantly to my overall well-being.
