AAAF Sponsorships

Alopecia Areata won't hold you back from what you love

This Sponsorship Program provides financial support for individuals and families living with Alopecia Areata, while also raising awareness of the condition.
AAAF will provide funding for successful applicants for skill development and participation in activities. We are especially looking for activities which support the health and wellness of participants, both physical and mental. Activities which have an element of team or community participation are also encouraged.

The program will raise awareness for Alopecia Areata by collecting and sharing content from sponsorship recipients on social and traditional media. AAAF invites participants to engage with local media and PR, helping spread awareness about Alopecia Areata within their communities.

FAQ

Sponsorships are not inclusive of: education, rent, business ideas, wigs, wellness retreats, travel and accomodation costs for sporting/dance competitions, dance costumes, sports uniforms, or equipment for the activity you are seeking sponsorship in etc.

No activity is exempt as such if it’s about learning a hobby/skill or enhancing an existing hobby/skill.

This refers to anything relating to primary, secondary, or tertiary education like a safe course, university course, or private collages - essentially anything that results in a qualification.

However, that does not exclude training programs. Say your hobby is triathlons and you have a goal to enter more elite competitions and want to step up your training you could apply to have your personal training funded, as well as the competition entry fees. Or you’ve done some painting/art in the past and would like to develop that skill with an art class in a different medium or a the next level.

Please note that applications will not be awarded before the award date no matter how far in advance an application is submitted - as payments and reimbursements cannot be made for expenses awarded incurred before the award date. Payments cannot be made directly to individuals, successful applicants must arrange for invoices to be provided to AAAF from their training facilities/providers.

Things you could consider doing to aid awareness might look like:

+ Give our wristbands to family and friends

The possibilities are endless!

Whether you're just starting out or deep into your passion, this program is here to make sure Alopecia Areata doesn't stand between you and what you love.
