Claire – Sponsorship Update
2024 finished with a bang with me being named the Senior Gymnast of the Year for our gymnastic club at the end of year award evening. I was so pleased to be recognised for my hard work, commitment and achievements throughout the year. It was a big year with many goals reached and some that I am still working towards.

The awards evening was awesome as we got to have a lot of fun training on the beach and practicing our skills off the jetty into the water. It was nice to spend time with the other athletes relaxing and finishing off the year together.

Our club is moving into a new premises which we will hopefully be in by the end of January. This means that we are currently training in a variety of places so are working more on our strength, flexibility and core skills in preparation for the upcoming season. I cannot wait until we have finished moving as we can then start looking at our groupings – whether we are working in a duo or trio. I look forward to trying out new skills and elements in my new team in the coming months.

I am so lucky to be a recipient of the AAAF scholarship as it allows me to continue with training without financial pressures inhibiting the number of hours I can train.
2025 is going to be a big year. I am entering my final year of school and am excited and sad about what that entails. I will hopefully be getting my drivers license some time this year and I will have my school ball in May.

My alopecia is a mixed bag – I have had some regrowth in the areas that I have had injections but have also developed some more patches. When I last saw my dermatologist I had had a reaction to the medication and so have had to stop all treatment for the moment. I am hoping that when I have my next appointment that I am able to recommence treatment but we will just have to wait and see.
