Abbie – Sponsorship Story
“Thank you to the AAAF for this sponsorship – that has enabled me to continue my dancing.
Dancing is my favourite activity to do. It is not just the physical activity – but all aspects, the hard work and training to improve, the confidence of performing on stage in front people, whether it’s at home with my family or on live television in front of thousands of people.
In the middle of the year, we also do dance competitions!
Each of the dance genres that I do – being tap, jazz, and hip-hop – have at least one dance created to be competed and performed throughout the year – then all together at the end of year showcase at Crown Theatre.
We are currently getting ready and prepared for the upcoming competitions, this includes learning all the moves and combos, positioning all the dancers around the stage and rehearsing the finished dances with full performance energy! This pro cess of getting performance ready is a lot of fun. When practicing we must do the dances full-out with all our energy. I love being chosen to be at the front of the dances – but so do most people in the dance – so there is a lot of friendly competition at the dance school to be selected for the front. Everyone gets a chance to be at the front but there’s nothing like the feeling of being chosen to be at the front, especially with all your friends!
My energy and commitment to dance is just one thing that has helped improve my confidence-leading me to perform better and improve daily. Thank you to the AAAF for your sponsorship – which has helped to lead me to develop this confidence.”
