Abbie – Sponsorship Update
Hi, I’m Abbie I am 13 years old and I love to dance. I have been dancing ever since I was 4 years old. I was just 6 years old when I got Alopecia Universalis and lots all my hair in a short span of time. I was extremely lucky to be supported by everyone around me as I lost my hair. I was very fortunate that my dance teacher at the time was so kind, she was such an inspiration to me and I kept on dancing. Every year at dancing we hold a crazy hair day and it’s so much fun to see everyone with their crazy hair supporting not just me, but the whole alopecia community!

I am currently dancing Tap, Jazz, and Hip-hop at The performance company. I am so thankful to The performance company who have provided me with so many opportunities to dance. Every year I dance at 2 competitions and my end of year performance! But over the last couple years I have also danced at telethon, some of the Perth glory soccer team games, and the Alinta energy Christmas Pageant. I love dancing at telethon because I think it is such an amazing way to raise funds for sick kids and to get everyone in WA participating! I grew up watching telethon so it is so amazing to be dancing on a stage that I watched other people dance on as a kid.
This year I hope to improve my dancing and achieve 1st place at competitions. The AAAF scholarship will be such a big part of that. With the help of this scholarship I can compete at competitions and show other people that you can dance no matter what! I am very passionate about everything that I do, I have not stopped moving ever since I could walk. Whether it be in a studio, or at home in the living room I will keep dancing!
